Black Widow Comics

Today in my casual webbrowisng I ran into another instance of the “but she’s only ever used as some hero’s girlfriend” complaint, so I thought I’d slap up a list of all the comics Natasha’s headlined, stuff where she’s either the protagonist or she gets title co-billing. Not all of it’s collected, but a lot of it is.

  • Amazing Adventures #1-8 (1970) (amazon)
  • Daredevil and the Black Widow #92-107 (1972-74) (amazon: vol 1 vol 2)
  • Marvel Fanfare #10-13 (1983) (amazon)
  • Black Widow: The Coldest War OGN (1990) (amazon)
  • Punisher/Black Widow: Spinning Doomsday’s Web OGN (1992)
  • Daredevil/Black Widow: Abattoir OGN (1993)
  • Fury/Black Widow: Death Duty OGN (1995)
  • Journey Into Mystery #517-519 (1998)
  • Black Widow #1-3 (1999) (amazon)
  • Black Widow: Breakdown #1-3 (2001) (amazon)
  • Black Widow #1-6 (2004-2005) (amazon)
  • Black Widow: The Things They Say About Her #1-6 (2005-2006) (amazon)
  • Black Widow: Deadly Origin #1-4 (2009-2010) (amazon)
  • Black Widow and the Marvel Girls #1-4 (2009) (amazon)
  • Black Widow #1-8 (2010) (amazon: vol. 1 vol. 2)
  • Widowmaker #1-4 (2010-2011) (amazon)
  • Fear Itself: the Black Widow #1 (2011)

If you’re able, and you’re interested, please look into purchasing them!! (This one is the best place to start.) Marvel, and its inability to support female protagonists long-term, is coming under a bit of deserved fire, but one thing we can do in addition to being angry on the internet is try to support what does come out.
